Our Story

Established in 2024, the Bhutan Innovation Lab (BIL) – an initiative of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) supported by UNDP – has a bold vision and mandate to augment, accelerate, and remove barriers to Bhutan’s prosperity, harmony, and resilience. The Lab’s core mission is to identify, design, and scale policy interventions that deliver more effective, efficient, and lasting changes for the country and the everyday lives of Bhutanese citizens. 

Our Aim

For every Ngultrum spent, we aim to deliver greater efficiency and accelerated results compared to traditional methods. We seek to realize His Majesty’s vision through enlightened governance and productive public services.
