Service Lines

Innovation labs enable governments to rethink and redesign policy, focusing on underlying challenges rather than symptoms.

Services

Innovation labs help accelerate innovation and change in government, making room for alternative ideas to leverage change and scale, making room for a different form of policymaking, addressing root and branch issues rather than symptoms.

The Bhutan Innovation Lab takes a participatory approach, working across multiple scales, to various timelines, delivering mission-style interventions that draw together government departments, development partners, the private sector, academia and most critically of all, Bhutanese citizens, from all backgrounds and with immensely diverse experiences.

The Lab offers three types of service:

Full-Scale / Long-Term Interventions (8–20 weeks)

Co-design and prototype policies with diverse stakeholders using advanced innovation methodologies.

Medium-Term Diagnostics (4–12 weeks)

Strategic analysis to identify hidden bottlenecks and opportunities for leverage.

Short-Term Engagements (1–4 weeks)

Red teaming, design workshops, and rapid advisory to rigor-check policies and challenges.

Our Approach

We apply a mission-oriented, participatory process that integrates government, development partners, private sector, academia, and citizens to co-create change.
